Archery Practice

Ali dropped her bag near one of the walls in the gym with a sigh. "That's getting way too heavy..." she complained to herself, stretching her arms over her head before picking up her bow and quiver. The targets were still set up from last time she visited, for which she was thankful. "Okay. I've got the place to myself as usual. No distractions. Just this."

She smiled, brushing a loose strand of hair off her cheek and taking her place before the targets. She moved slowly and deliberately, aiming carefully and memorizing the feel of her muscles in that position before firing. After a few shots, she settled into a routine, focused entirely on the practice.

Like that's going to last.

*Ollie walks through a portal and ends up in the gym, not seeming like he's paying attention to where he was going, when he looks up, he notices he's in an unfamiliar place* 'Where the Hell am I now?... Must've taken the wrong portal.' *He sighs, then notices Ali practicing Archery, at which he smirks and raises an eyebrow* 'She's an Archer as well?'

*He keeps a good distance behind her, then decides to take up his bow and draw an arrow, firing it at an angle at the target she was firing at, breaking an arrow set in the bull's-eye*
When he fires, she snaps out of her near-trance, almost dropping her bow as she turns. When she sees him, relief floods her features, pushing away the concern and harder things that had been in her eyes. "Ollie! Hi! What're you doing here?"
*he walks up to her* Well, I thought I came through the wrong portal... But I guess I actually came to see you, huh? *grins* How are you, Ali?

*motioning the hand with his bow in it toward hers* You never told me you were an Archer.
"You came to see me? That's so sweet. I'm well. I thought I'd get a workout in while nobody seemed to need me...it never came up. Clint's been teaching me." She holds up the recurve bow in her hand. "I haven't been at it very long."
*laughs* Yeah, I must be drawn to you, or something, because I've never been here before... Who's Clint?
"He's known as Hawkeye. He's a hero in his universe. Wears purple. I'm surprised you two haven't met yet."
Purp-- Oh, that guy! Yeah, I've met him a time or two before. Alright, I know who you're talking about. So, how much has he taught you so far?
"The basics. And not to trust him when he hands me trick arrows. Damn but giving me one with a net in it is a bad idea..." She shakes her head a little. "He hasn't had much time for this lately, and with Duo living with him now...well, I suppose I'll be teaching myself."
*takes his hat off of his head, laughing a bit* Well, I could help teach you, if you'd like. *smirks* But first... *he places the hat on her head* You've gotta show me what you already know how to do.
She grins, straightening the hat a bit. "I'd be honored. Don't worry, this won't take long."

Stepping away from him a bit, she returns her attention to the targets. She aims slowly and carefully, and with repeated tries she does a nice job of putting an arrow near each edge. Pity she was aiming for the center.
*He watches her fire, and notices her eyes aren't set where the arrows land* Hmm... *he walks up behind her, pressing against her back, he takes an arrow, puts it in her hand, and places his other hand on her hand holding the bow* Like this... *he guides her hands to draw the arrow and aim the bow* If you want to hit the center, then you want to hold it *moves the bow a little bit to the side, centering it, and holding it there, steadily* Here... Now, let it go... *his hands are still on top of hers, and his body is still press close to her back*
With a soft hiss, she draws a sudden breath when he presses against her, and she closes her eyes. Instinctively, she shifts her weight to press back against him. For a moment, it seems doubtful she's going to remember what she's supposed to be doing, but with a tremendous effort she focuses again on the targets, releasing the arrow.

"Have you always been so hands-on, Ollie?"
*hands her another arrow with a grin on his face* It depends on who I'm teaching... *he moves her arms into the same position as before, remaining pressed against her, but he doesn't hold onto her hands this time, rather, he rests his hands on her hips* Now, fire.
"Lucky me." She fires again, her eyes trained on the target. "Won't Dinah get jealous?"
Maybe... Then again, Dinah's not omnipotent, is she? *hands her another arrow, expecting her to make another good shot, without him lining up her arms this time. Again, he rests his hands on her hips, pulling them back against him gently*
"I won't stand for that sort of thing, Ollie. If you're not able to be open about what's between us, there won't be anything between us."

She's a much better shot on her own when she's angry, it seems, and hits much closer to the bullseye than she'd managed before.
*grins* Hmm... Fair enough. Between us, thus far, is a very good friendship, that I wouldn't want to lose for any reason, apparently, some tension, and right now, on your part, a bit of anger... Nice shot, by the way. Aside from that, a couple of layers of clothes. Am I missing anything?
She pulls another arrow from her quiver before answering. "Trust." She fires, hitting rather well again.

And another. "Desire." She fires again.

And a third. "Affection." And again.
*still grinning* I wouldn't think we'd have a good friendship without trust or affection. And, I think desire is shown through the tension.

Again, nice shots.

That cover anything? Or, well, maybe there are too many things to list, huh? Maybe there's more between us than we can even think of...
She lowers her bow and turns to face him. "And maybe there's more than we want to say. Maybe there's more than can be said with words..."
Well *places his bow and quiver on the ground* I've always been a man of action... And all of this sitting around and planning has been driving me to the brink...

*wraps a hand around to the small of her back* But, if this is a moment where I can use my actions to speak for me, then *brings his lips close to hers and lets his breath travel along her lips as he speaks softly* I will. *he kisses her passionately, placing his other hand at the top of her back*
She'd seen it coming. She could have pulled away, and part of her was telling her she really should. But there are some things she's just not built to do.

So instead, her arms close around him when their lips meet, her own as passionate and eager as his. One hand ends up tangled in his hair, cradling the back of his head, while the other rests comfortably between his shoulderblades.
*He deepens the kiss slightly, tilting her back a little, just before pulling his lips from hers, he then runs his hand down her back to meet his other and removes his gloves, dropping them on the floor. He runs his hands under her shirt and rubs her sides. Looking into her eyes, he smiles, and asks softly* Words really don't express enough at all, do they?

*he gives her a look of concern* This won't have a negative effect on our friendship, will it? As I said, I wouldn't want to lose it for anything...
It takes a moment for her eyes to focus on him again.

"Are you going to tell Dinah?"
*He stares into her eyes seriously* I wasn't planning on it, but if you think I should, then I'll respect your wishes and do so.
